In my reflections, I meditate on moments during my dance journey, my volunteering work in dementia care, and more.

Somewhere in the giant space we call our universe, stars are moving at their own pace through space. Some travel alone, but many like to journey together. Some stars make big leaps, drastic moves from one place to another, while others float contentedly around the same area. It is a mystery how some stars float and others fall. But this is how it has always been.
Between the millions of lights in the sky, a little star was traveling on her journey. Sometimes accompanied by others, sometimes by herself but the little star was never truly alone. The space around her was filled with galaxies and stars, each on their own path.
One day, a misty planet appeared and began to float alongside the little star. Curious about the mysterious planet, she floated through the mist to discover a star walking over a planet full of flowers. The star did not float, nor did it take leaps. It simply walked in circles on the planet, while the planet itself drifted through space. The star walked and greeted the flowers, trying to remember their names but forgetting them again. When she passed by them again, she would smile brightly, and say, “What a beautiful flower!”
The little star greeted the star on the planet from the sky. “Hello, star, why are you down there?”
The star looked up and shined brightly. “Hello there!” she replied, then continued her walk.
The little star was a little confused, but her curiosity made her follow the star from above. The star walked in circles, stepping on every part of the planet, yet she continued exploring as if it were all new.
“Where are you from, star?” the little star asked.
“I don’t remember,” the star answered, smiling as she kept walking. “But now I am here.”
The little star floated down closer to the star, but she could not touch the planet. She stayed afloat, even millimeters away from the ground. Then the little star realized the star on the planet was pulled by a force that kept her there, making it impossible for her to float away.
The little star floated beside her as she continued exploring the planet she had likely already seen every inch of. But the star was forgetful and always rediscovered it anew. As the star smiled and walked, the little star looked up to the sky. The mist covered the view of the rest of the universe, making the other stars seem dim and far away. The little star couldn’t help but feel sad for the star, who seemed stuck on the planet and her light covered by mist.
Still, the misty planet continued its quiet journey alongside the little star. Time and again, the little star would return, floating down to spend time with the walking star. In these moments, their light grew a little brighter together. Though the mist dimmed the universe around them, their shared glow would clear a bit of the fog. Then, the star could glimpse more of the universe, and the universe could glimpse more of the colorful flowers the star took care of with her bright smile.
